In his free time, Edwin Shoffner enjoys attending sporting events. He has season tickets to the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Hornets’ forward Marvin Williams is expected to return to the team for his 15th season in the league next year. Selected second overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2005 NBA Draft, Williams joined the Hornets before the 2014-15 season and has drastically redefined his game in the five years that followed. More of a perimeter scorer early in his career, Williams never made more than 84 three-point shots in a single season before joining Charlotte. Moreover, he didn’t attempt more than 166 until 2013-14.

During his first year with the Hornets, Williams made a career-best 95 three-point shots on a career-high 265 attempts. He attempted a whopping 378 three-pointers the following year and has exceeded 300 attempts in each of the following three seasons. Now, with 637 made three-pointers with the Hornets, Williams ranks third on the franchise’s all-time leader board in that category behind Dell Curry (929) and Kemba Walker (1,283).
